Teddington Garden

The main objective for this design was to increase the patio area immediately next to the house and to create a more contemporary feel. The client was having new slimline, sliding glass doors installed and wanted to restyle the garden to capture this modern feel. We suggested having a pond close to the house which they liked the idea of. There was a large trampoline dominating the end of the garden which was now redundant. The client wanted a garden to accommodate more of an adult life style for family and friends.
We created a large patio area, across the width of the house on one level which allows for large numbers but is also proportionate to the garden. Immediately in front of this is a Corten Raised Pond with Water Blade. A small transition area from the main patio area leads you to a path which takes you to the end of the garden where three beautiful Silver Birch trees act as a focal point. In this small woodland feel area there is a circular rusted steel log store. At the end of this path there is another transition area with a steel water bowl which you walk around to arrive at a secondary patio area, with Fire Table, Sofas and a Pizza Kitchen Area. This area captures the morning sun and is also ideal for shade on extremely hot days. The client wanted to maintain a lawn and incorporate planting which would attract wildlife and create a natural contemporary feel. We used a variety of grasses, perennials and shrubs to create this feel. For the hard landscaping we used light grey porcelain paving and a charcoal colour composite deck to distinguish different areas and create interest. We used Corten Steel Edging around the lawn to match the pond and also Corten Style Vertical Cladding Panels at the end of the garden with alternate panels of black batten

Project Cost: £50,001 - £75,000
